Commercially pure titanium (UNS R50400) tubing, known as Titanium Grade 2, contains about 99.2% titanium and minor amounts of iron (0.3%), oxygen (0.25%), carbon (0.08%), nitrogen (0.03%), hydrogen (0.015%). It provides superior corrosion resistance, especially against oxidizing conditions. The mechanical properties are tensile strength of 344 MPa (50 ksi), yield strength of 275 MPa (40 ksi), elongation of 20%, and density of 4.51 g/cm³. Its strength of a moderate nature, high ductility, and good weldability make it suitable for heavy-duty applications involving durability as well as performance.
