The ferritic stainless steel alloy known as Stainless Steel 439 Tubing has a low carbon content (≤0.03%), titanium (0.3–0.6%), and chromium (17–19%). It provides exceptional resistance to oxidation and corrosion, particularly in hot conditions. After welding, the titanium addition stabilises the structure and stops intergranular corrosion. Mechanical characteristics include a yield strength of 230 MPa, a tensile strength of about 415 MPa, and an elongation of about 30%.
