Seamless Tubing Stainless Steel 317/317L is an austenitic stainless steel alloy consisting of Chromium (18-20%), Nickel (11-15%), and Molybdenum (3-4%) as major constituents, with reduced carbon content in 317L making it more weldable. It has good mechanical properties such as a tensile strength of about 515 MPa and yield strength of about 205 MPa. The elongation at breakage is usually 35% while hardness is approximately 217 Brinell (HB). These characteristics qualify 317/317L tubing for usage in high-stress and corrosive conditions, especially where higher chemical attack resistance is required.
