Stainless Steel 317/317L Heat Exchanger Tubing contains chromium (18–20%), nickel (11–15%), and molybdenum (3.0–4.0%) and is extremely resistant to corrosion and oxidation. The low carbon level in 317L reduces precipitation of carbides during welding and, as a result, its weldability is improved. The tubes possess a minimum tensile strength of 75 ksi, yield strength of 30 ksi, and minimum elongation of 35%. With greater creep strength and high-temperature properties, this alloy is designed for tough applications with long-term durability and mechanical stability in severe chemical and thermal environments.
