Stainless Steel 316L tubing contains mostly iron, 16-18% chromium, 10-14% nickel, and 2-3% molybdenum, providing corrosion resistance, particularly against chlorides. The low carbon content (max 0.03%) is improved weldability and reduced carbide precipitation. Mechanically, 316L tubing has tensile strength of approximately 485 MPa and yield strength of 170 MPa, with high ductility and toughness. The hardness is generally between 80-95 HRB, and it does well in both hot and cold applications, providing durability and reliability in harsh environments.
