Stainless Steel 316 and 316L EFW Pipes consist mainly of iron, with 16-18% chromium, 10-14% nickel, and 2-3% molybdenum for higher corrosion resistance and strength. The “L” type contains less carbon (less than 0.03%), better weldability, and lower carbide precipitation. Mechanically, they provide superior tensile strength of approximately 515 MPa, yield strength of around 205 MPa, and elongation of close to 40%, offering good ductility as well as toughness. Their high resistance to chloride-induced pitting and crevice corrosion makes them suitable for hostile environments, ensuring reliability and durability in critical use.
