Stainless Steel 304 Seamless Tubing consists chiefly of iron with 18–20% chromium and 8–10.5% nickel, which provides great corrosion resistance. Small percentages of carbon (max 0.08%), manganese, silicon, phosphorus, and sulfur can also be present. Mechanically, SS 304 tubing has a tensile strength of around 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of around 40%. It shows good ductility and toughness even at cryogenic temperatures, and has high pressure and temperature withstand capability, and thus is well-suited to be used in structural and fluid transport applications in harsh environments.
