Stainless Steel 301L Tubing is an austenitic, low carbon chromium-nickel alloy, usually containing 16–18% chromium, 6–8% nickel, and trace amounts of carbon (≤0.03%). It possesses superior corrosion resistance and satisfactory ductility. Mechanical properties are tensile strength of approximately 550 MPa, yield strength of 240 MPa, and elongation at 40% at 50mm. The weldability is improved by the low carbon content while suppressing the precipitation of carbides. Hardness and mechanical strength can be improved by cold working without affecting corrosion resistance, which makes it suitable for automotive and structural applications.
