Mild Steel Pipes consist mainly of iron with the percentage of carbon being up to 0.25%, along with traces of manganese, sulfur, phosphorus, and silicon. Such pipes provide good weldability, machinability, and ductility. Their mechanical properties generally contain tensile strength 330–550 MPa, yield strength 200–350 MPa, and elongation percentage of approximately 20%. Because of their low carbon, MS pipes are less hard and more ductile and thus are best for bending and forming operations without affecting the structural quality.
