Duplex Steel Tubing generally contains 22–25% Chromium, 4–7% Nickel, 3–5% Molybdenum, and an equiaxed combination of Ferrite and Austenite phases. The two-phase form provides improved corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. Its major mechanical characteristics are a tensile strength of approximately 600–800 MPa and yield strength of 450–550 MPa, having superior elongation (25–30%) and impact resistance. The equilibrated microstructure provides the ability to withstand superior stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion resistance, and thus Duplex Steel Tubing is best suited for high-stress conditions and chemical aggressiveness.
