Carbon Steel Tubes are mainly composed of iron with different carbon levels ranging from 0.06% to 1.5%, in addition to slight amounts of manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, and silicon. The composition is slightly different in specific grades. The tubes have very good mechanical strength, with tensile strength between 400 and 850 MPa and yield strength between 250 and 550 MPa. They are very ductile, tough, and machinable and are suitable for use in structure and pressure applications. The hardness and wear resistance can be improved by heat treatment to achieve reliable performance in demanding operating conditions.
