The inclusion of sulfur improves machinability. These pipes have a tensile strength of about 515 MPa, yield strength of 275 MPa, and elongation of 30% in 50 mm. They possess a Brinell Hardness of around 207. SS 416 possesses fair ductility and good corrosion resistance in mild environments and is widely used for applications that involve moderate strength and high machinability.
