347 Stainless Steel In order to prevent carbide precipitation during welding and high-temperature exposure, the pipes are stabilised austenitic stainless steel pipes that contain chromium (17–20%), nickel (9–13%), carbon (≤ 0.08%), and niobium (columbium). This alloy retains its strength at high temperatures and provides exceptional resistance to intergranular corrosion. Tensile strength of about 515 MPa, yield strength of about 205 MPa, and elongation of 40% are typical mechanical characteristics.
